About this listen

Penguin presents the audiobook edition of Faking Friends by Jane Fallon, read by Sally Scott and Kristin Atherton.

Best friend. Soulmate. Confidante. Backstabber.

Amy thought she knew who Melissa was - then again, Amy also thought she was on the verge of the wedding of her dreams to her long-distance fiancé. When her career begins to unravel, she pays a surprise trip home to London. Her boyfriend Jack is out, but another woman has been making herself at home.... And that Other Woman is Melissa.

Amy has lost her job, her fiancé and her home in one disastrous weekend - but instead of falling apart, she's determined to get her own back. Piecing her life back together won't be half as fun as dismantling theirs, after all.

Loved this audible book

Good story from start to finish. Great characters, kept my interest and I certainly was keen to keep listening as I wanted to know what happened next. Excellent narration. I have been listening to a lot of crime thrillers so Faking Friends made a welcome change .

just one more chapter...

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Absolutely. It's an engaging story about life's lemons and finding the best recipe for lemonade even if the first batch turn out bad.

What did you like best about this story?

How the charaters were so well written. Amy is so sympathetic and you root for her as the story progresses. Even when she doesn't always take the high road because we all behave a little foolish once in a while.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I found the story very engaging. So much so that I finished it in 2 days because the way the plot develops. It doesn't hold back in a "but noone knew the terrible thing she could never tell anyone" way nor does skip over things just to tie up a loose plot line

Any additional comments?

This was my first book by Jane Fallon and I won't hesitate in giving another a go.

Kept me gripped ....

Really enjoyed this book, and it was well read. slightly weird ending to every chapter though speech wise where it never felt like the end but you only knew because there was a several second gap. might be because the two female lead characters were read by separate people though.

Very good storyline with plot twists I didn't see coming. I'd definitely say one to listen to if you're feeling a bit vengeful ! Great revenge storylines that leaves you shocked and hating certain characters at points and I couldn't wait to hear what happened next all the time. Not alot of humour in this one and made me quite sad to be honest at times, but as I say I really enjoyed this tale of a friendship gone badly off the rails.

Excellent story, good twist at the end.

I wasnt sure about this one, not the usual type I go for. I'm glad I tried it. Apart from a minor irritation when Amy could be quite nasty as Mel then fein remorse, I found the characters believable and the story engaging. On the down side it kept me awake several times until 2am. For that reason I dont recommend you start this when you have to get up early the next day.
