About this listen

Gabriel's Inferno is the first in this intoxicating trilogy featuring Gabriel and Julia, following their sensual journey of forbidden love - with all the obsessive yearning of Twilight and the intensity of Fifty Shades of Grey.

One man's salvation, one woman's sensual awakening....

Gabriel Emerson is a man tortured by his dark past. A highly respected university professor, Gabriel uses his notorious good looks and charm to lead a secret life of pleasure where nothing is out of bounds. Sweet and innocent, Julia Mitchell enrolls as Gabriel's graduate student, and his immediate attraction to her, and their powerful and strange connection, threatens to derail his career.

Wildly passionate and sinful, Gabriel's Inferno is an exploration of the intense power of forbidden love.

Sylvain Reynard is a Canadian writer with an interest in Renaissance art and culture and an inordinate attachment to the city of Florence.

Slow story

I really struggled to finish this book, I almost quit on it so many times but a friend recommended the trilogy to me so I pushed through to the end.

I enjoyed the characters and the story line but I found the story a very slow read, nothing really seemed to happen for long parts of the book, I felt like I was waiting for the story to get going constantly and this made the book boring for me.

I will be returning this book.

It's like a Diet Coke

She is so naive sometimes it's hard to listen. Why do all female characters have to be naive AND stubborn? ' I don't really know what I'm doing but it's my way or the highway!' Why do all male characters have to change their identity to accommodate some insecure girl? Men have feelings and personalities too. Why is always the man in the wrong somehow? Are the authors insecure themselves ( and play with what they know) or is this what the market wants ? I know this type of books is for women but I am a woman I couldn't finish it: no salt, no pepper, no nothing - it's like a diet coke! Not quite what you expected but since you popped the can open...

Awesome

Loved this book. I have paperback copy as well as it downloaded on both my kindle devices so it's always to hand, now I have it here too. Have to say I have enjoyed listening to this. I thought it'd be weird an awkward but it was just awesome.

Lovely story

The book itself was great, calm narrator’s voice has added so much to the characters. My only concern was around too much of Italian for non-Italian speaker, that despite it sounding great, was beggining to irritate and annoy. The storyline could’ve been covered with less Italian much quicker, bringing the high points of the book with a sharper turns.
