Editor reviews

The thrilling audiobook Jurassic Park is written by Michael Crichton and expertly narrated by Scott Brick. The novel has been adapted for the screen in 1993 and again in 2015 as a blockbuster of the same name. In either an exhilarating fantasy or an outlandish experiment gone terribly wrong, humans take dinosaur DNA and clone it in an attempt to put these incredible creatures back on Earth in a zoo. Then everything goes terribly wrong. Be enthralled as this book will take you on the adventure of a lifetime. Available now from Audible.

Critic reviews

"Scott Brick brings a chilling calm to the complex story with his deep, even tone and clear enunciation.... He does a particularly fine portrayal of John Hammond, the creator of the controversial park, giving the character a raspy edge that suits the dark agenda beneath his grandfatherly facade." Even if you've seen the film you will enjoy this

Where does Jurassic Park rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I most like fiction, history and fantasy and never really listen to horror suspense books, but i'm glad i did. it is a good book .

What other book might you compare Jurassic Park to, and why?

don'l really listen to many in this genre so i cant really.

Which character – as performed by Scott Brick – was your favourite?

Hammond as he is very different in this to how he was portrayed in the film.

Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

there were definite gasp moments.

Any additional comments?

I would highly recommend this book to people. I gave it a five star as I'm a huge JP fan but peeps i tell thee its entertaining and tense as hell.

Great book if you can handle the annoying Lex

This would be a perfect book if it wasn't for Lex. I think her character is perhaps the most annoying I have ever encountered. I often struggled to finish chapters that she was in.

Much better than the film!

Rarely do I think that films live up to the books when I have read them first. In this instance, having seen the film many years ago and many times since, I can say for sure that the book wins. Very well narrated and an excellent and somewhat different story from the film. I have already recommended it to people and will continue to do so!

Simply Brilliant !

The beginning was a little hard to comprehend. With a flurry or characters and small pockets of experiences happening in different locations, I found it hard to remember all of the characters and which ones were worth memorizing. After a short while, when the characters reach the park it becomes very clear. The story was really quite scary at moments and the author wrote the tension well. The book was firmly sci fi, and full of in depth explanations. Although I knew the story I felt very keen to find out all about the dinosaurs and how they came to be and the research and developments going on. The film adaptation, from what I can remember of the film, seemed quite accurate.

Narration was good and engaging, although I did speed up the narration a little.

Still a classic

One of my all time favourite books. And wonderfully read/acted by Scott Brick even if some accents are questionable, I'm looking at you Muldoon. Would highly recommend to anyone. Just give me The Lost World as well please Audible!

I preferred this to the film

This book was fantastic, I loved the film, but I felt this was a much more realistic and suspenseful story. The film is a family friendly version of this limb ripping masterpiece.
