Summary

The complete finale of the hit BBC Radio 4 sitcom- 2 episodes.

Cabin Pressure is set in the wing and prayer world of a tiny, one-plane airline, staffed by two pilots, one on his way down, and one who was never up to start with. In this, the finale of the whole series, we discover that for MJN Air, whether it's choosing an ice-cream flavour, putting a princess in a van or remembering your grandmother's name, no job is too small, but, many, many jobs are too difficult.

Carolyn Knapp-Shappey, MJN Air's formidable boss, has employed two of the very cheapest pilots money can buy. Captain Martin Crieff, who's always wanted to fly and won't let a little thing like lack of ability stop him, and First Officer Douglas Richardson, smooth-voiced old sky-god and eternal schemer. Passenger service is provided by the relentlessly cheerful Arthur, proud inventor of both Surprising Rice and his own hat.

The end of an era!

Where does Cabin Pressure rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

The series ranks as one of my all time favourites. I'm so sad that this series has ended but it ended on a high! I suppose when someone gets as famous as Benedict Cumberbatch then it must be difficult to tie them down to a radio series. These stories are so silly and so good natured, you can't fail to love them. So doors to manual and farewell to the cabin crew of MJN airlines...good flying folks.

Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Laugh, laugh and laugh again...

Lighthearted fun.

These recordings are just the thing to fill a 30min slot. Nothing deep and needing concentration like a novel, just a but of fun.

The culmination of one of my favourite stories

Everything comes together in this episode. All the threads from yellow car to Princesses. From Fitton airfield to the plane being ....

I love it. Still listening after it was first aired.

Tour de force

One of, if not THE best, comedy series from BBC Radio 4. Perfectly cast with inspired script by John Finnemore. Each episode is laugh out loud. Excellent for all ages. Gets my 11 out of 10 award. Thank you John, Benedict, Roger, Stephanie. Absolutely gold dust!

My passion for Gertie

Oh Gertie, Gertie the greatest heroine player of the BBC Radio 4, sister only to the great Victoria Woods. Please please don’t fly away to Zurich with the amazing Cumberbatch, let the brilliant Roger Alum have time to relish his 4th stripe, and if you don’t know what I’m talking about, click for the best one credit’s worth airborne series ever with the dearest mum and son to warm a sleepless night with love and laughter.
