Summary
Shortlisted for the 2014 Indie Awards
The downloadable, audiobook edition of Graeme Simsion’s prize-winning romantic comedy The Rosie Project, read by the actor Dan O’Grady.
Meet Don. Don is a genetics professor who just might be somewhere on the autistic spectrum. He looks a little like Gregory Peck and is getting married. He just doesn’t know who to yet. But he has designed a very detailed questionnaire to help him find the perfect woman. And it’s definitely not Rosie. Absolutely, completely, definitely not .Rosie, meanwhile, isn’t looking for love; she’s looking for her biological father. Sometimes, though, you don’t find love: love finds you...

Fabulous story and beautifully narrated
What did you like most about The Rosie Project?
Quirky subject matter, a Professor with mild Asperger's sets out to find himself a wife and ends up with the opposite of what he thought he wanted but gradually he allows himself to adapt and change (not sure how realistic this is among Aspergics) so that he begins to enjoy living a different kind of life.
What other book might you compare The Rosie Project to, and why?
The Curious incident of the Dog in the nighttime, also: Alex Woods versus the Universe.

Amazing story
Really wonderful story, characters are very relatable and you really want them to succed. The main chanracter, although a little different has been written so that you really understand who he is. Only downside is that I guessed the end from the start.

David Lodge eat your heart out
What did you like most about The Rosie Project?
This is an almost perfect novel with gems in almost every aspect. The mix of Asbergers, genetics, romance and academia shouldn't work but it does, in spades
What other book might you compare The Rosie Project to, and why?
Any David Lodge novel
Which scene did you most enjoy?
The scenes were seamless and so impossible isolate any particular one.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Any additional comments?
A novel which leaps into 'most favourite in 2014' so far. The reader did his job superbly and the story kept me so absorbed that I missed the M6 because I was chortling so much!

Good fun with very touching moments
I listened to this book as it was recommended as I’d enjoyed
‘Eleanor Oliphant is completely fine’
and yes it was similar as the main characters struggle in social situations, both definitely on the spectrum. Some have criticised these books for poking fun at people with MH issues, but I personally feel, telling it this way possibly helps you understand how difficult it is for people in these situations and how when they are with people like Rosie who are non judgmental in their company, their lives are enhanced.
Many laugh out loud moments and many very moving moments, also narrated perfectly. Enjoy
