Jack and Jill are in love and want to get married. But Jack is the son of Mother Goose – who’s desperately poor and in debt to Squire Bashem – and Jill just happens to be the Squire’s daughter. With the help of a Fairy Queen, Mother Goose’s wishes come true and she becomes rich thanks to a gigantic magical goose which lays golden eggs.... Her debts cleared, will Mother Goose live happily ever after? And will Jack and Jill finally be able to marry with their parents’ blessings?

Starring Kenneth Connor, Mollie Sugden and Bernie Winters, this classic panto was recorded in front of a live audience and first broadcast on BBC Radio 2 on Christmas Day 1981.

Marvelous Mollie

What a treat!! I am so glad to have discovered this. The fabulous Mollie Sugden is delightful as the fairy queen.

Lovely to hear the vocal talents of the late great Bernie Winters & Kenneth Connor is also wonderful but for me it's Mollie who shines supreme!!

The humor is a little bawdy, just as it should be, and a song from Mollie makes this a true treasure!
