Summary

They say that a little knowledge is a dangerous thing, but it is not one half so bad as a lot of ignorance. There are some situations where the correct response is to display the sort of ignorance that happily and wilfully flies in the face of the facts. In this case, the birth of a baby girl, born a wizard, by mistake.

Everybody knows that there's no such thing as a female wizard. But now it's gone and happened, there's nothing much anyone can do about it. Let the battle of the sexes begin.

tony Robinson narrating really makes this!

not the best in the discworld series but. definitely worth a read/listen if you're a fan. Tony Robinson is the perfect narrator for it! just in case anyone else didn't notice, you can look up books "narrated by", and there's quite a few by him that don't show up if you just search for discworld or Terry pratchett.

What's better than wizards?, wizards and witches. I can't think of anything better for cheering a person up in these challenging times. Tony Robinson just gets better and better

Great book

I loved, the narrator gives the story character. Would only say that sometimes it is quite hard to listen on the go, since the narrator lower his voice, so if you are out and about, with the noise on the streets, you might struggle a bit.

Fantastical & fantastic

Way ahead of its time & I thought Tony Robinson's narration (though a bit quiet at times) really brought it to life!

Shame there was no Nigel Planer Unabridged version

Tony Robinson does bring this alive, but it's a Shame I couldn't get the Unabridged read by Nigel Planer. He does the sarcasm very well. As does Tony Robinson in this one. Unabridged was voiced by someone I've not heard of, who didn't seem to carry off the dry wit of the book in the same way.

Love Pratchett

All his books tend to be wonderful. Tony Robinson does wonderful work of the abridged story and does incredible voices too. The shorted form version is much more enjoyable than the full one since that audio book was done by a narrator who I feel didnt quite fit the genre of work.

Excellent!

Excellent story!! Narrator was very good, however, the difference in volume between his whisper and shouting voice was too great. Kept having to turn the volume up and down....
