Excellent story
I loved this book. I didn't have expectations for it as I hadn't heard anything about it but I was immediately invested in the characters. The descriptions are great, I felt like I could see the hallow forest and fiends that live in it. I found myself so enthralled, waiting to hear what would happen next, that I'd forget what I was doing. Definitely recommend for anyone that loves a spooky/fantasy story.

Absolutely Fantastic
Did I expect to sit down and listen to this entire book in one sitting while playing video games? No. I thought I'd just be listening a chapter or so at a time. Instead, I've been sat here listening for the entire run time, and only occasionally remembering to jump a few times here and there to not be booted from the server.
Ashes has been, without a doubt, one of the best books I have ever listened to. From the get-go, the story sunk its teeth into me and kept me hooked the entire way through, and it has been a while since that's happened with any other book.
The narrative pacing and storytelling were stellar. The way the story dealt with grief, depression, trauma and anxiety with such beautiful tact was refreshing. The only 'downside' of the story is that there isn't more of it.
I would rate this book at roughly 6.022x10^23 out of 10.
