Summary

Return to New York Times best-selling author Nalini Singh's darkly passionate Guild Hunter world, where human-turned-angel Elena Deveraux, consort to Archangel Raphael, is thrust centre stage into an aeons-old prophecy....

Midnight and dawn, Elena's wings are unique among angelkind...and now they're failing. The first mortal to be turned into an immortal in angelic memory, she's regressing. Becoming more and more human. Easier to hurt. Easier to kill.

Elena and Raphael must unearth the reason for the regression before it's too late and Elena falls out of the sky. Yet even as they fight a furious battle for Elena's very survival, violent forces are gathering in New York and across the world.

In China, the Archangel Favashi is showing the first signs of madness. In New York, a mysterious sinkhole filled with lava swallows a man whole. In Africa, torrential monsoon rains flood rolling deserts. And in Elena's mind whispers a haunting voice that isn't her own.

This time, survival may not be possible...not even for the consort of an archangel.

The action never stops in this book the slayer is out for revenge after the death of his daughter. Someone tries to kill Ellie’s brother in law so many different strands in one book. All of it taking us towards war.

Awesome

I love this series and while I was enjoying this next chapter of the story, I was concerned by the direction it was going, I love Elena & Raphael. But seriously, the last few chapters!! Shocked, horrified and hopeful I think those words best explain it!

Nalini has a much bigger story to tell then I anticipated that’s for sure and I’m both excited and worried to find out what the outcome will be. I know it’ll be a great story, each book is, but it’s getting dark and I’ll admit I’m starting to worry for my family of Elena, Raphael, the seven & co 😕

Another Winner with a twist

Oh My Days what a ride Fabulous Book but the Ending!!!
Ive just seen a comment on Nalini's site saying "i Both Love and Hate you right Now Nalini" and i totally agree. Loved the story and the progression on the characters but the cliff hanger at the end ahhh i have to wait till 2019 to find out what happened to them. I understand why it was done that way otherwise this book would have been humongous . But seriously Thank you Nalini for a Fabulous Book looks like the next book will be just as riveting i have to listen again now just to make sure i didn't miss anything Enjoy all x

Another must read.

Enjoyable but I felt there was something lacking in the writing this time. I have listened to the book 3 times the last only a few days ago and I'm struggling to comment on the actual story yet with most of the others I can remember and explain the plot. Hopefully this is just a blip in the author's writing.

Go to read as soon as they are published

I adore this series, from the first book where we meet Elena Deveraux a guild hunter to Archangel Raphael I have been hooked. The series has developed over the last 10 books but this book shows what has happened is being unspooled. For the first time Nalini and Ms Eyre have left us with a cliffhanger similar to that at the very end of Avatar. Now I have to wait for her to return to the writing cave :-(

Nalini Singh never disappoints!

Raphael and Ellie's story continues with the same dramatic well written effect only Nalini knows how to bring across to readers.

I used to reading the series but hearing it just added a new level of enjoyment. Justin Eyre' s performance was excellent. I'm already downloading the next instalment.
