Summary
Chaos is afoot!
What was meant to be a simple hunt turned into a life-changing adventure! Caldor is whisked into a world of magic, adventure, and politics. Can he survive long enough to reach his goals?
In a magical world known as "The Wyrd" only those who have the Spark can be adventurers, diving into magical dungeons, getting epic loot, and leveling up by collecting essence. Caldor is several years past the age when most people find out they are sparked, but that doesn’t stop him from wishing.
Caldor’s father was an adventurer, and he wants nothing more than to be like him, an Arcane Knight. When his hunt goes sideways and he finds that he can harness the powers of being a Sparked, he is filled with excitement and ready to battle his way to the top!
Magic, adventure, and a dose of unwanted politics await him; will he survive long enough to become an Arcane Knight? Listen and find out.
This is a LitRPG book with a "system"—levels, stats, and cool abilities. No harem and loads of fun violence.

Amazing storyline
Great starting prelude with a great amount of character background.
The detail to characters monsters and equipment is second to none.
The book continues to pull you in wanting more, there is always something catching your attention and keeping you wondering where the story is going.
I look forward to hearing more about the arcane Knight

When everyone is OP AF, who wins? Me, I do
Arcane Knight by @TimothyMMcGowe1 published by @GuardPublishing. For the most part, I enjoyed this novel. I particularly liked the litRPG concepts with something extra added in the form of Ares the griffon 🦅. The characters were interesting and varied.
And the MC was pretty OP as fuck. He awakens his spark ⚡️ later than usual but his powers are beyond measure. He's able to gain experience and essence much faster than anyone else. With this skill he's able to reach his first threshold - a checkpoint in his progression.
This book draws on the standard LitRPG tropes, which serve the genre so well including, XP dungeon loot and gear options. In most LitRPG novels 🐉 mythical monsters need to be levelled up but not Ares the griffon.
Ares is a fucking legendary beast who helps the MC return home to his time-critical quest as an arcane knight. As an audiobook 🎵 listener I enjoyed 19hrs and 20minutes of it. The additional works at the end meant I wasted 40 minutes of my life, which I didn't appreciate.
However, I very much look forward to reading the next book in the Order & Chaos series. I hope that there is going to be even more extensive mythical lore, which I absolutely loved in this novel. 📚4/5 ⭐️ #BookReview

very average everything
I found the overall story average. the 'human interactions' were very simple and felt very awkward. male narrator cadence was weird until sped up. almost felt robotic. I couldn't tell the different between female characters as I felt all the female voices where the same.

GOOD START!
Story starts in a fantasy world with no MC being teleported or that plot so we get a MC who a bit more fresh then the current stories in the LITRPG genre.
Story is a standard power fantasy mixed with game mechanics with a weak to strong MC with world building as the Story progresses.

Easy listening
This was my first litrpg audio book. Previously put off thinking I’d constantly have to listen to repeated long winded stats / progression / achievements etc etc Refreshingly stats and character progression lists are kept to a minimum. Great premise for a story and despite being over 20 hours long I feel like the story has barely started so hopefully there will be many more instalments ! Without giving any spoilers away there are a number of plot lines throughout the story that make me want to listen to the next 2 books to see where they progress. Overall a great effort for a first book. Well worth a listen to.

What an Entrance
My first foray into the LITRPG genre, I had always shied away from it as not seeing it as a true genre in the sci-f/fantasy realm, but I love isekai anime so I'll thought I'd give it a shot while I was in hospital. I was blown away, everything I love from anime like sword art online and a story that kept me constantly engaged, the performances was absolutely on point and I can't wait to listen to the second book.
