Offensively unfunny!!

As a long time Noel Fielding fan, I was v much looking forward to this. It's offensive, not in a quirky way or a forward thinking, but in a cheap joke way.
He refers to what he's wearing a lot, we obviously can't see this as audiobook listeners.
Do not recommend.

Fun and fantastic!

Other reviews say that this particular performance by Noel is overly crazy and weird, but although it may be crazy after a while of listening (at 02:00) eventually got in the mood and started chuckling to my self. Recommend to older children (11-16) or anyone at 02:00.

The man's insane.

I'd seen Noel Fielding on things like Bake Off, Taskmaster and QI and found him quite amusing so when I saw there was a stand up show on audible I decided to give it a go. I wish I hadn't bothered the man is a complete nutcase doing various poor sketches in which he plays multiple ridiculous characters in pointless situations, at one point he pretends he's a talking teabag ! In the future I'll stick to watching him on TV where he's much funnier and not performing alone.

not mighty, and very little boosh

Some of what the Mighty Boosh did was tremendous. Lots of imagination and lively fun. Some a little rubbishy but you forgave them that, as they would quickly move onto something better and were never short of a new idea.

How has Noel Fielding aged? Not great. I wanted to like this, but it was a larger proportion of drek to anything amusing. He keeps reminding us he is 41 as if to pre-empt our owns thoughts of "have you learned nothing more than this along the way?" He makes up childish scenarios that only he (and a generous Australian audience) find funny. The chicken boy stuff is just one long cringe. He flags it up beforehand and debates it afterwards. Whereas he should just cut it out entirely. There are no jokes or anything entertaining about it. He can call it a concept but it does not work and is nothing more than him doing a dubiously racial dialect. Likewise Joey Ramone which requires visuals that aren't available on audio only. I stopped about this point (with 40% unlistened) as the jury was back in and it wasn't good news for Noel.

I will always admire him for the verve, originality and art of the Mighty Boosh but this is one to quickly forget. Even though it was free as an included title it did nobody any favours. He seems like a nice guy and I hope he gets back on track with a new project rather than just retreading old favourites like the moon character etc which he is in danger of tarnishing. Maybe Julian Barratt was the guiding light that steered them away from gash like chicken boy? Maybe they only had a few ideas and they were all used up by the end of Boosh?

In summary: could try harder and lacks integrity or any heart.

Demented!

I thought Noel Fielding would be funny, turns out he's not, this was dreadful, Noel did a lot of laughing in the show, at least he had a good time.

Not slightly funny!

Only person laughing is himself. As for the tea joke, sad is the only word to describe it!
