Summary

Dickie Bird is not only the world's most famous cricket umpire, he is also one of the most entertaining public speakers of our time.

Here are anecdotes about the game he loves so much and has served so well, with some fascinating behind-the-scenes glimpses of cricket around the world over the past forty years.

The engaging character of the man, the down-to-earth wit of a great Yorkshireman and his outstanding gifts as a storyteller make this a recording to treasure.

Delightful

If you could sum up An Evening with Dickie Bird in three words, what would they be?

A little gem

Any additional comments?

I have thoroughly enjoyed listening to this, I grew up watching the tail-end of Dickie's career and he was always a great character. I look forward to listening to his other titles.

A very special man.

A true Yorkshire Man

Great to listen and hear his stories of both the game and other parts of his life, all told by Dickie himself

Best evening in better than the tv

Great story's and very funny with the odd monument of how cricket was enjoyed in his time not like 2 day were they are at each faces from the start. One of the best evening in if is raining outside it will cheer u up
