Summary

Aurora Teagarden is basking in the news of her pregnancy when disaster strikes her small Georgia town: four kids vanish from the school soccer field. Aurora's 15-year-old brother, Phillip, is one of them.

When a dead body is found, the local police and sheriff's department comb the county, and Aurora and her new husband, true-crime writer Robin Crusoe, begin their own investigation. With Christmas approaching, Aurora is determined to find her brother...if he's still alive.

Critic reviews

"Harris draws the guilty and the innocent into an engrossing tale while inventing a heroine as capable and potentially complex as P. D. James's Cordelia Gray." ( Publishers Weekly)
"Clearly focused plot, animated description of character and real estate, and sparkling prose commend this breath of fresh air to all collections." ( Library Journal)

Aurora is back! Love it!

A quirky, light hearted murder mystery! Just like the rest of the Aurora Teagarden books. Glad to have a new one after so long.

Doesn’t tie up the ends

Enjoyed the books, much like the rest of the series. I was left a bit disheartened at the end that I had unanswered questions, as you didn’t get to find out what happened to the “bad guys”

Sweet tale with lovely narration

If you already love Charlaine Harris, this story will definitely please you. It's sweet but filled with mysteries. I loved the narrator's voice and accents, too.

great part of the Aurora series

the story was entertaining and a nice twist at the end. As ever the narrator is top shelf which really gives it all so much extra energy.

Aurora to the rescue. Eventually!

Poor continuity: told her friend about her pregnancy during a phone call but her friend didn't know about the pregnancy until she came to visit. Considering that Roe had been told she couldn't have children she didn't appear to be at all concerned about the progress of the pregnancy. Insufficient attention to Sally's memory problems. Too much introspection. Overall the story was slow. The ending was predictable. Roe wasn't as nice as usual. Robin was too saintly. I didn't enjoy this one. The narrator was excellent, as always.
