About this listen
If the devil is knocking at your door, don't open it.
A simple enough rule to follow…or so you'd think.
When a criminal has magic too dangerous to merely lock up, we send them to a blackout prison. Hell would've been a better destination for this guy.
As a lowly cop in the LVMPD's Rapid Response unit, I'm used to dealing with all kinds of dumpster-fire scenarios. From drunk salamanders on a building-melting bender and angry manticore landlords threatening to eat tenants' gallbladders in lieu of payment, to human summoners calling up monsters from the deep to impress their girlfriends–to name a few.
But learning about the magic I shouldn't have while facing off against a psychopath who's worked me into his infernal plans for worldwide torment? That's decidedly outside my wheelhouse.
Oh, and my one and only fae friend is acting really strange.
I have to stop this devil from bringing hell to earth, but I'm petrified I'm going to help him pull it off instead.
Warning: This urban fantasy series contains danger, mayhem, humor, and heart, with characters you'll fall for–including a vampire with an unbeating heart of gold, a book-hoarding dragon who eats criminals for breakfast, a mysterious faerie who's as hot as the desert he slunk out of, and a human heroine who'll fight to save them all.
Includes Of Smoke and Sentiments: An Aurelis Bonus Scene.

All Is Faerie in Love and War
Wow this book is hard to imagine, having your well taken away and all the frustration that would go into that. She fights the hard struggle and you can't are how she can possibly win! Excellent story with many hair raising challenges. Read brilliantly again by Read Irondale.

I had so much trouble getting through this one.
WARNING: This Review contains potential spoilers.
I'm not going to beat around the bush with this one. I vehemently disliked this book. I had to skip pretty much the entire second half of it. It deals strongly with mind control, In particularly of the main character. The first skip I made was from when she was first controlled to when the control was broken. And the recap of what she had done made me VERY glad I did. The second skip was when they decided to send her back to the villain alone. And that was to the last chapter.
I enjoyed the first book, But this one... no, this was not good. It wasn't the writing, it wasn't the performance. It was the subject matter and the fact I don't want to see characters I like have their wills stripped from them and made to do something that would, for lack of a pretty term, kill their soul.
I'm still planning to read the third book. And I hope it's scores better in terms of story because this one hurt. And I'll not be returning to it.
