About this listen

It's a gorgeous autumn day in Georgetown. The Democratic candidates for president and vice-president of the United States are dutifully glad-handing voters and the media outside a grand estate where a national-security conference has just been held, bringing together the world's greatest minds to discuss the issues that are threatening the country. It's American politicking at its best. That's when all hell breaks loose.

When presidential candidate Josh Alexander's motorcade is ambushed by a group of terrorists, the nation is thrown into turmoil. Two weeks following the attack, Alexander is carried to victory by a sympathy vote, but his assailants have not been found. On the surface, it appears to be the work of al-Qaeda, and soon the FBI and the rest of the government begin scouring the world for jihadists. But then CIA Director Irene Kennedy and Special Agent Skip McMahon are presented with classified information so toxic that they consider destroying it altogether, as it contains intelligence pointing to some of the most powerful players in Washington.

Enter Mitch Rapp, the one man reckless enough to follow the evidence to its explosive conclusion. His journey takes him through the shadowy world of contract killers, into the darkest corners of the globe, and eventually back to Washington, where the fragile pillars of power are shaken to the core.

Twaddle but I like it!

If you're looking for deep and thought provoking, this may not be for you! It is however a good ole yarn though. Vince Flynn delivers yet another easy reading action adventure which doesn't make you think too much but entertains none the less! It could do maybe with a more punchy ending but on the whole I'll give it the thumbs up. Does what is says on the tin!

Masterful performance!

George Guidelle is simply the best. Right up there with Scott Brick and Jay Snyder when it comes to this kind of material. loved him since the Kill List.

simply wow

I am slowly becoming a fan, after finishing all the Grey Man series I had to find something else. Mitch has not disappointed. I find the narration of George Guidall the best so I have skipped a few books in the series until I'm desperate enough. Great story loved it

Brilliant Dram

Having listened to most of Vince Hill books this one must surely rate as one on the best if not the best. Good narration, political intrigue. Excellent storyline and satisfactory ending.

Mitch Rapp on top form

Conspiracy, assassination, globe-trotting, intrigue and action . I don't know anyone who does political thrillers better than Vince Flynn. I think this is one of his best. Best to read the novels in order methinks - so maybe don't start with this one - but don't miss it out either.

Mitch Rapp is back

I read this book years ago and have just listened to it on Audiable. I love this series of books 📚 and this one stands the test of time (PDAs maybe outdated!)

Mitch Rapp and his friends have to solve a major assassination attempt which leaves the President Elect's wife dead. Which terrorist group is responsible? Could there be another solution?

As always George Guidall's narration is excellent.

Starting to get a bit samey

the books are starting to get very similar. Politicians don't trust Rapp, rinse and repeat
