Really enjoyable. The whole story kept me gripped. The main character 'Hal' was really likeable.

great trilogy

liked, Hal, Kay and the supporting cast from the arena, his development of his skills was done very well, found the ending, a bit anticlimactic, but it was smartly done.
The stats weren't over done, they only highlighted them every so often, although the chime of the experience and level up. without giving you the laundry list of every single skill, after every level up.
there was a subplot regarding a mysterious merchant who seemed to know what hal is, but never dived any further into it. maybe they are saving it for a potential fourth novel.
Overall, I recommend this novel.

A little bit jumanji, a little bit the lion, the witch and the wardrobe but a lot enjoyable.

Good progression through the story, likeable 3 dimensional characters and a satisfying ending! Really enjoyed the trilogy and will be looking for more Jamie davies books to listen to.

Really enjoyed the story

Loved all three books, easy to follow and keep up with. It’s rather predictable but if you just want an easy read/listen then give it a go.
Only down side for me was the American pronunciation of the word Duke as Dook, made me cringe every time. But don’t let that put you off.

interesting story

this book has the basis for a great story but seemed rushed and almost seems it could have been a story read to a child at bedtime. the narrator is almost difficult at times to listen to and doesn't know how to use punctuation, having pauses where there shouldn't be any.
