Summary

DI Alan Williams is faced with the most brutal murder scene he's witnessed: the ritual killing of an elderly widow. Evidence at the scene indicates that the murderer is close, and the investigation runs at breakneck speed in the hunt to stop them from striking again. Meanwhile, the busy port of Holyhead is being used by unscrupulous traffickers, who are embroiled in a violent turf war. With resources stretched, DI Williams is facing a case that could break him.

story good but narration poor

audible really need to have someone who can pronounce Welsh better. Some of the Anglesey place names are badly read!!
Story starts as a from truth story which is unnerving to people from the island.
Otherwise a good story.

Good story, quite gruesome

The story is good, lots of twists and turns, because nothing seems to go right for anyone, quite realistic. The more gruesome moments are not written/read, but they are alluded to extremely well. So much so that I don’t want to continue with the series. Definitely a good read/listen for those of a tougher disposition.
I struggled initially with Cresswells accent when reading women as they all sound like they’re from Fireman Sam but if you don’t have experience of this you won’t be bothered by hearing young Norman’s mother in the entirely wrong context.

Overall a good listen

Enjoyed the story, and main police characters. It’s always good to have a story based in an area you have lived. Although disappointed the authors geography of Anglesey isn’t better… Parys Mountain is in Amlwch not Cemaes!!! Despite this little annoyance I shall continue with the series once it’s available on Audible, whenever that may be??!

Rubbish

Ridiculous story line, waste of a credit should come with a warning about occult and deception
