About this listen
The perfect murder. The perfect nightmare.
Spying from her window in New York City with high-powered binoculars, conspiracy theorist Zoe spots a man and woman on a park bench. Zooming in, she finds she can read the texts on the woman's phone. Her initial excitement turns to alarm when the woman's texts outline a plan to murder the man she is sitting next to.
The police department is trying to manage a pandemic and catch a serial killer who has murdered six women. So, when Zoe reports the conspiracy to commit murder, the police have little time or patience for her theories.
Committed to saving the life of the man on the bench, Zoe and her best friend Sean pursue all angles until Zoe finds herself in grave danger.
But those around her keep wondering, is there really a murder plot or is it all in Zoe's head?

An enjoyable listen
I liked how this was lighthearted but still gripping. It did drag a bit as it was approaching the end and kept repeating around the hospital parts. I also wish they'd addressed the lead character's xenophobia; all of her wild theories were about people 'with accents' or who 'looked' a certain nationality. Come on, really?
But overall, a good listen and a nice little twist (kinda predictable, kinda not).

Light hearted
I found that I could not stop listening to this story, it flowed really well and even though some of the characters were frustrating at time I really enjoyed the over all story and the way it panned out. Enjoyable free read and will definitely be trying more of McGarvey books. Gail narration was ok did her best at changing character voices and enjoyable to listen too.

Enjoyed this
A bit too much covid talk for my liking. A couple of the male characters voices blended/ switched throughout and sounded constipated, and the female a tad screechy, but overall, narration was good. I did guess the twist, but overall, definitely one of the better books I've listened to (and I've listened to thousands). I liked the main character and her pal, and actually found it quite amusing at some points, so all good, thanks

Loved the characters and the speed of how everything unfolds. An exciting police thriller.

Legally blonde in crime fighting form
Probably more of a 3.5 rather than a 3 tbf. It was ok, relatively entertaining but quite silly really. Could have been brilliant, clever idea but just not told all that well. All I could see in my head was Reese Witherspoon at every turn.

Annoying .
Lead character was so annoying. if she was designed to be then the narrator did a good job. took about 5 efforts to go back to finish it off . glad it was free. wouldn't recommend wasting your time

Too painful to listen to
Unfortunately I gave up quite early on, the main characters were too childlike and quite frankly unrealistic. So I called it a day.
