Summary

An immortal wanderer. A brilliant scientist. A centuries-old menace written in blood.

Lucien Thrax, son of the earth and child of the ancients, is a healer of immense power. But years of work on a deadly vampire virus have not led to a cure, nor have they softened the wall he built around his heart. When he’s forced to work with Doctor Makeda Abel, Lucien is convinced he’s reached his limit of patience with humanity.

Makeda Abel may be human, but she’s far from impressed with the brooding vampire healer, even if his mind draws her reluctant admiration. She’s learned how to survive in the immortal world, and it’s not by being afraid. Working together may lead them to answers, but it also pushes Lucien and Makeda’s attraction to the boiling point.

When nightmares become reality, Makeda will have to trust Lucien with her life. Finding answers has never been more vital. Finding love has never been more deadly. To heal the elemental world, Lucien and Makeda must follow ancient paths and ask for help from the most inhuman of immortals. Because even with a cure in hand, the battle has only begun.

A Stone-Kissed Sea is the fourth novel in the Elemental World series.

Good storyline

This storyline was very unique. I will confess that I haven’t listened to the books before this one and I feel like I missed out a lot! It did say stand alone but I didn’t connect with the characters and think if I’d listened from book 1 then I would of. Fantastic performance.

So enjoyable

Interesting story and well thought out. Really good author, other books in series are worth a read.

Slightly disappointed

The story is, as expected from the author, brilliant. The performance is good. If this is the first Audiobook of the Elemental series someone's listened to, then I think it's good. However, I was disappointed to be honest. In my personal opinion the voice characterisations of a different narrator, Dina Pearlman, are outstanding and hard to match. In this audiobook I found Lucien's voice a bit of a drone, but my biggest grouch is that Caerwyn became Irish not Welsh! To my ears anyway, and his 'voice' also did not suggest to me the large man as in Dina Pearlman's characterisation. I found Tenzin, especially, and Baojia so different too. I re- listen to this author's Elemental series on a regular basis but I struggled to get to the end of this and won't listen to it again.
