Summary

Penguin presents the audiobook edition of A Lesser Evil by Lesley Pearse.

She defied her parents to marry for love . . .

Following her heart, Fifi moves with Dan to London where they rent a seedy flat in Dale Street, Kennington. Though Fifi must now become acquainted with squalor, she is soon drawn into the goings on behind the shabby front doors of her new neighbours.

But it is the Muckles, at number 11, who are the street's focus. Rumours of criminal depravity and shocking behaviour are rife. So when Fifi steps in to help their youngest child, she risks the wrath of this frightening family. Suddenly, not only her marriage and her family but the lives of all the inhabitants of Dale Street are at the mercy of the immoral Muckles . . .

This is a great listen...from start to finish the story just keeps rolling and rolling and the story drags you in deeper and deeper until you just cannot stop listing !! I most certainly will look for more more Lesley Pearse books !! Books like these are the reason I use this audible APP!! Thank you !!

Well read and engaging story

This was well read and engaging. The character mostly believeable but little intrigue. It's a straight forward story which I would recommend.

Great read.

Really enjoyed this. Easy to get into and holds your interest. Welcome read for me time. Characters are believable and ending is uplifting. Plenty to keep you interested. Well worth a credit. I hope there will be more from this author as I only have two more of her books to read.

Good book

Another good book from Lesley, a bit depressing at times but as usual it all comes good at the end, my only complaint is that after listening to a few of her books now she repeats some things a lot, the phrase all at once is used way too much! Other than that it’s pretty good but not the best I have read from her.

disappointed

I am an avid reader of Lesley Pearce. although the last two books have not been on the same level as previous books such as "belle" etc. what has happened. Lesley seems to have gone from lovely stories to child rape all in two books? nit my type of reading Lesley. perhaps you could go back to the books we all know and love! Narrated as always brilliantly by Annie Arlington.
