Summary
No roast for the wicked....
Everyone in Stoneybrook is on edge as a high-profile trial takes place up north, in the city of Cascade Ridge. They’re excited for justice to be served, and for the boost in business - as reporters and onlookers flock to the Cascade Valley doesn’t hurt either. But when the remains of the main suspect in the case show up just outside of Stoneybrook, in a burnt vehicle, they realize something sinister is at play.
Was it a freak accident? Or did one of the victims take revenge into their own hands, just in case the jury wouldn’t convict?
With Paul tied up in the case, it’s up to Hadley to help Suze with wedding planning. But when the suspect’s death points toward a local couple, it’s up to Hadley and the gang to put the real killer’s feet to the fire.

Grilled to perfection
I loved this book. One of my favourite author's who never fails to entertain or create a great mystery, has done it once again. This is book 9 and as each book seems to get better and better the more you get to know the characters I can highly recommend each and every book in this series, in fact I did to my mum. I love the characters and as it is set in a small town you have met many of them previously and with each book you get to know a different one a little better, as well as the main characters whose friendship is made for the hallmark channel, in fact I can very easily see the series being made for that channel. I love the way Hadley as well as solving the mystery also has to help save a cat. The mystery was good and I enjoyed the way the girls could still plan there rushed wedding while interviewing suspects. Normally I wish the author would stop taking up so much time with home life drama and just get back to the mystery but that isn't the case with this book because they are both cleverly woven in together and I just love it all.
When Suze's gets a cancellation date for her wedding of just two weeks, getting everything ready in time with her best friend Hadley is going to be a push. But not even the girls in there wedding haze can fail to notice the tension of the biggest trail to hit Stoneybrook and the way it is effecting the residents who got swindled out of there hard earned money, especially when the suspect is let out on bail. When his body is found in a burnt out car Paul has to step back from the wedding planning and investigate the many suspects. Especially as his boss threatens that if it is not solved quickly, before the up coming election than Paul will be getting transferred. Hadley can't lose her brother and best friend for as long as a year and steps up to help. Can Hadley and Suze plan a wedding and solve a murder? With many of the suspects the people involved in making a wedding happen they just might.
I like the narrator and think she is a good choice for the series. With her calm, versatile voice she is perfect to play the part of Hadley and her friends.
