About this listen
It's summer in St. Louis and Mercy Watts is on vacation from her parents. The great detective and his nosy wife are on a cruise and Mercy thinks she's off the hook for doing any investigating for them. But when a family friend has a fatal heart attack, Dad has one of his famous feelings and orders Mercy to look into it. Mercy tries not to get sucked in. She really does, but she's her father's daughter. Soon Gavin's death leads to a more grisly one, the death of a bride on her wedding day. Can the two be connected? Was Gavin murdered? Now Mercy can't stop. You do for family. That's all there is to it.

Not Hartoin’s best effort
Lightweight introduction to the series. Why would a family with heavy investigative experience put a fluffy nurse only daughter who
Is also a Marilyn Monroe lookalike, into the path of murderers and mayhem?
That troubled me a lot.
Some of the characters are fun and the murderer seemed obvious to me but nevertheless a fun, if fluffy tale. I’d like to know the outcome of the godmothers’ dilemma.
The American legal system is so litigious and weird.

Absolute rubbish
Abandoned when the Marilyn lookalike complains about being ogled then used her looks and “feminine wiles” to fool a cop…this is driveling nonsense and so badly written

Any additional comments?
This is the first book in the Mercy Watts series. I downloaded the book as a freebie and I had brought the audio book before I had even finished reading it(oh and the second book).
Mercy is not you average anything, looks ... imagine Marylyn Monroe, Job... nurse (instead of your normal P.I, or detective) , which all adds to the fun as she doesn't want either she just want to be normal and have a enough money to pay the rent, and spend time with her boyfriend (who as a Dr is always on call) but with family, sneaky senior citizens and a murder nothing is ever easy.
