About this listen

She sold her soul to a siren, and now he’s come to collect.

Victoria risks everything to leave a dangerous marriage and gain a second chance at life. But when her escape goes awry, she finds herself caught in the strong embrace of a mysterious siren, forced to choose: temporary salvation or immediate death.

And so, a cursed deal is struck.

Five years later, Victoria is alive—and the world’s finest ship captain. But her debt to the siren looms while her conniving ex has demanded a king’s ransom as the final price of her freedom. Victoria refuses to cause her family to suffer any more on her behalf and is determined to make things right before her time is up. But that time is cut short.

The siren comes for her. Six months early.

Taken to the magical and deadly Eversea, home of the sirens, Victoria discovers she’s the sacrifice upon which all sirens pin their hopes. If they want to appease an angry god and save a world on the brink of destruction, then they need her. Which gives her the perfect leverage.

Victoria strikes a new bargain: the Siren Duke will help save her family, and she’ll fulfill his demands. It’s a good bargain until a flicker of passion ignites in the scarred remnants of Victoria's heart, threatening all she's worked for. As the sacrifice for the God of Death, she’s meant to give up everything that draws her to the world of the living. But that’s impossible when all she can think about is how this handsome siren’s song, and his hands, make her feel very much alive.

In a realm of ancient magic, submerged secrets, and forgotten gods, can love find a place among shattered hearts as they race against time and the blossoming of forbidden desires? Or will the delicate songs of their hearts be silenced once and for all?

A Duet with the Siren Duke is a complete, stand-alone novel. It’s for listeners looking for a fantasy romance with deep lore, second-chance love, sacrifice, forbidden and slow-burn romance that sizzles, and a happily ever after.

Beautiful story

I loved this whole series. I would love more stories about all of them. Such a sad but happy ending

Excuse me

The protagonist seems to have Stockholm syndrome & develops dementia. I mean the books still gages curiosity and was part of my MTM binge listening. However this book the romance building wasn’t really it when the main characters is very self doubtful, needy and full of biases .. wasn’t In my opinion the best character out of all the novels. Lots of lack of sense of self. Elizabeth Evan’s is a great narrator which made me continue to listen. I much prefer the other books in this series. Also too many uses of “excuse me” in this novel which to be honest all the other protagonist also said but it was so repetitive that I felt myself cringing.

As much as I love the serie

I have to say I did't love this as much as the last three books. The books before stole my heart on the first chapters, this just didnt give the feeling at all. I was hoping so much from this and maybe thats why I feel let down.

Least compelling in MTM series

Cannot fault the narration but this book was very long and dull and I nearly DNFed numerous times. The characters are dull, the stakes too high and there is no chemistry to glue the story together. Much repetition too. Perhaps the ‘spiciest’ of the series to date but the passion scenes felt sterile and less compelling than the previous three books which were less graphic. I’ll still be reading the next in the series and am treating this one as a bad anomaly.

Elisa Nova does it AGAIN!

Listening to an Elisa Nova book is like getting a warm, fantastical, and intimate hug. Duet of the Siren Duke is the fourth in the Married to Magic series and it's just as incredible as it's three predecessors. In this book, we gets loads of comfortable call backs: Little Mermaid, Orpheus/Eurdice, Second Chance at Love, and Forced Proximity. The positives from this book: the plot development is strong, the character arcs are phenomenally done, and the core conflict/stakes were top-notch. This book had me on the edge of my seat and I wanted more and more. I couldn't stop listening!! Victoria and IIryth have my heart and they may just be some of my favorites in the series. I hope there are more books in the Married to Magic series and I will be patiently wait for Kona to announce the news, if that's the case. The audiobook was also so well done. The narrator was perfection and had me emotional several times during this audiobook experience.

This audiobook was given to me for free by Elisa Kova's team; however, my review is my honest truth and I stand by every word I say.

poor when compared to others

It was incredibly formulaic and lacked direction. Ending felt rushed and plucked out of a hat.
