About this listen

Brought to you by Penguin.

Sometimes you are forced to take stock and wonder what your life's all been about, and where it is going. Ever since I was a boy, I've thought that music makes things better. A Different Stage is my love letter to music, a celebration of the songs and sounds that have inspired me and meant something in my life.

In this warm, intimate and humorous book, rich with nostalgia and unexpected intimate detail, Gary Barlow unpacks the people, music, places, things and cultural phenomena that have made him the man that he is. From the working men's club where it all began through to the sold out stadium tours, this is the story of Gary's life told through music.

A Different Stage is a beautiful and sumptuous book.

would give this a 10 if I could

a wonderful book written and narrated by Gary...having seen a different stage and now listened to the book, I can highly recommend it to anyone....not just take that fans......his story is so interesting and its told from the heart......from sadness to happiness to disappointment and full of wonderful stories......I'm a huge Gary Barlow fan so for me, this was, as he is, simply perfect......

Another Great Book

Loved every second. Gary narrates the book so well. It moved me, made me laugh, made me cry. The chapter where he talks about his Dad was beautiful. Actually makes me want to see the stage show now

Fabulous

Saw the show 4 times so as soon as I found out Gary narrated this audible I was in! And Gary, as ever, doesn’t disappoint. Lots of extras from the show & an honest, funny, emotional look at Gary’s career. Highly recommend

Another great listen

Aww I do really like Gary. Always have.
There is so much honesty in his words and this was a bright and breezy listen throughout.
I did d know some of the stories from his previous book but I didn’t mind listening to them again.
A nice sunny day listen from the man himself. I will look out for his new show, it sounds great!

I've got one "Wow" to use, and I'm using it here

Wow! Having really enjoyed the live show I couldn't wait to hear the audio book version. Only thing missing is some songs, but there are obvious reasons they can't feature!

Good, but not quite as good as last book.

It's a good read and the usual boring to listen to Gary, puts in a good performance hear. However the book is more just a written accompanied version of his stage show and not so much a biography.
