About this listen
Christmas. Ghosts. Murder.
It's nearly Christmas in Oxford, and Detective Inspector Bridget Hart is enjoying a rare day off at Oxford's Christmas Market. A ghost tour seems like a fun way to round off the day. Until, that is, a brutal murder brings the evening to a tragic close.
Torn between work and family commitments over the festive season, Bridget soon discovers that the ghost of Christmas past is reaching out to the present with fatal consequences.
Not everyone believes in the season of goodwill to all men, and with a real-life flesh-and-blood killer at large in Oxford, Bridget races to solve the case in time to prevent yet more murders.

A Sad Tale's Best for Winter
Another very well-crafted murder mystery from M.S. Morris, where the city of Oxford again plays a major role. My one grumble is that it's all a bit tangential - but great fun, for all that! Excellent reading by Esther Wane, as usual.

Entertaining
Still enjoying these characters and the varied storyline.
At one point I was thinking it was getting a bit Midsomer Murders but I think it narrowly swerved that fate.

Perfect festive season murder mystery!
A great follow on to the last book and built on the characters backgrounds really nicely. Some things were too coincidental for my liking - but I won’t give anything away. Overall an enjoyable listen, especially as the narrator reads it so well.

Good story
The story was good. Wish it had a little more Christmas infused in it but overall a good twist.

Oh dear
Weak characterizations but strong on feelz. More of Oxford's atmosphere on Google Maps than in this story and the denouement is of the "and in one bound he was free" type. Sloppy as police procedural and dull.
