Summary
From New York Times bestselling author Tijan comes the intensely passionate story of a man trying to make amends and the woman who makes him want to keep his promises.
This was my place. My business. Easter Lanes.
Then a guy comes in, trying to rob me, daring to take it away from me.
My home. My life.
Hell no. I won’t let my livelihood be threatened.
No one knows what I’ve done to build this life for myself.
Except he might.
Ashton Walden, a man I remember from when we were kids.
Even back then I could tell how dangerous he would be one day.
He’s now the head of the Walden mafia family, and my father is so in debt to them that they practically own him.
My dad and I are estranged and I want nothing to do with him or his debt, but the day after the attempted robbery, I don’t wake up in the hospital.
I wake up in Ashton Walden’s home. And he drops a bomb on me.
If I want my livelihood back, I need to earn it back.
And thus begins our cruel arrangement.

"Tijan makes the criminal underworld both perilous and seductive. This is sure to scratch an itch for fans of dark romance.”—Publishers Weekly

Great audio story.
Loved the story. The characters all held their own as the story line developed. I particularly liked the the main characters were together early on and stayed together not just falling in love at the end. I will definitely read more stories by Ronan.

I was gripped by page one of this book right until the end of glorious epilogue.
Molly Easter bought her bowling alley from her dad. He's not a good dad or man. She's had a tough upbringing but sees her business as her life and lifeline, to stability, friendships, and her found family!🥰
Ashton Walden has taken over his cr!me family after all of the elders were sent to 'sleep with the fishes' in a night of brutal attacks on his and best friends 'families'. Both he and Trace have both stepped into the Bosses shoes of the 'Walden and West
Cr!m€ Families'.
Trying to get information, and due to a pull he's always felt, he tells Molly information she never knew. Both about her mum and her business, both things relate to her Dad. She is livid and agrees to help.😳 Unfortunately, her life is almost instantly and unexpectedly in danger!💥
I didn't think Tijan would be able to redeem Ashton after events in book 1, I should've known better!😃 We got to see so many different facets to him that were hidden before. Molly was fabulous, if a bit chaotic. I loved them together on the page!😍
I actually enjoyed this a bit more than book 1. There was less stress without the whole 'parole officer' side of things to worry about. It's v!olent, as you'd expect, but there's also a bit of a cat of mouse feel to it, throughout.
I thought the female narrator spoke a bit too fast but was otherwise very good! I wasn't enamoured by male narrators' voice, although he did a good enough job. He sounded too well spoken, and I felt his voice was not how I expected Ashton Walden to sound. I know, that's a subjective thing.🤷🏻♀️
A highly recommended this twisty, and steamy duet.⭐️😍

I can’t get enough of Tijan’s mafia romance
I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again. I love Tijan’s mafia romance - it’s my favourite, and following on from A Dirty Business (and if you’ve not listened to it, you need to), we’ve got Ashton and Molly’s story. Ashton Walton is a whole new level of mob boss, hence the title. Got to say, I wasn’t a fan in book 1, but now - move over Trace West, your best buddy has just taken centre stage in my dreams. Yes he’s manipulative, ruthless, and cruel, but it turns out, with the help of his childhood nemesis, he can be protective, passionate, and dare I say, loving. Some gruesome scenes, some funny scenes, some highly unpredictable scenes, all brought to life perfectly by Jason Carpenter and Brooke Bloomingdale (new to me), both gave me all the feels in all the right places. Loved, loved, loved. If you’ve only got one credit to use. This is where it should go.

Great Story! 👍
This is #2 of the Kings of New York duet and must be read in sequence.
I really had to dig deep to read this book after #1 as I really didn’t like Ashton, but the story waa so good, and his counterpart, Molly, balanced him off perfectly. Although quirky, she had a tough side and she brought light to his darkness.
I also liked that way that all the loose ends from #1 came together and the "baddie" turned out to be totally unexpected.
I wonder if there'll be a book about Jake or Avery who are really interesting side characters?
The #dualnarration was good and by new to me narrators #brookebloomingdale and #jasoncarpenter who I will look out for in the future.

I just can't get enough of these Mafia men
This book was so good. I was hooked from the beginning. Ashton and Molly are so good together. I love a bad boy who's only good for his woman 💜. The storyline was really gripping and had so many different twists and turns to keep us hooked all the way through the book. The ending was perfect 🤌. i can't wait for more Mafia stories from Tijan.

Bad boys with a heart
I love stories where you have a strong heroine that grows and a hero that shows his heart but only to those in his closest circle. This is a great story with twists and turns that keep you listening.
