Summary
Grace has been best friends with Ella and Flick forever. The late-night chats, shared heartaches, and good times have created a bond that has stood the test of time. When Ella invites them to stay for a week in her cottage in South Wales, Grace jumps at the chance to see her old friends.
She also hopes that the change of scenery will help her reconnect with her distant husband. Then Flick arrives; loveable, bubbly, incorrigible Flick, accompanied by the handsome and charming Noah. This is going to be one week which will change all their lives forever... Join Grace, Ella, and Flick for a week of love, laughter, tears and friendship in A Cottage by the Sea.

Fantastic chick lit
After 4 years of listening to mostly crime fiction I have entered a chick lit phase and I am loving it! I downloaded this as, after some great breaks by the sea this summer I was longing to be by the coast! This novel really did transport me to the Pembrokeshire coast and I became completely drawn into the lives of Grace and her friends. Yes there are lots of chick lit cliches but if you ignore these it's an enjoyable, escapist story. As ever Clare Corbett narrates beautifully but I wasn't convinced by the male characters accents!

Easy listening
I have listened to a few of Caroles books. They’re easy listening and feel good. Nice story if a little predictable. Excellent reading by Clare Corbett.

Brilliant apart some some mis ??pronunciations
What did you like most about A Cottage by the Sea?
The story was compelling and the characters well depicted
What other book might you compare A Cottage by the Sea to, and why?
The beach hut by Veronica Henry as I love stories that are centred around coastal resorts or places that I may have visited.
Which scene did you most enjoy?
The scene where she falls in love with Noah and the adventures they had together
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
Yes when Ella s partner left her
Any additional comments?
The only fault I found with the book was the narrator pronounced epitome as EPI TOME which was a bit irritating but other than that it was fantastic, I hope that there will be a sequel to find out what happens next.

Not just bland chic lit, more intelligent!
What did you like most about A Cottage by the Sea?
It was an easy listen, but was intelligently written, with well drawn characters.
What about Claire Corbett’s performance did you like?
Great narration, where you lose yourself in the story and don't really register the narration because its spot on.
Any additional comments?
Towards the end, it seemed it was going to fall into bland cliche, but then it went iff in another direction. Good stuff!
