Summary

‘Funny… inspiring… I loved it’ Milly Johnson ‘I love the fabulous friendships’ Jo Thomas ’Wonderfully uplifting’ Alex Brown Getting on her bike will change everything…

Sue Young has never asked for much apart from a quiet life. She’s always been happy with her call centre job and dinner on the table at six o clock; that was until a tragedy tore her tranquility into little shreds.
With her life in tatters, Sue is persuaded to join a charity cycle ride led by Morning TV’s Kath Fuller, who is having a crisis of her own, and Sue’s self-appointed support crew are struggling with their own issues. Pensioner Flo Wilson is refusing to grow old, gracefully or otherwise, and a teen goth Raven Chakrabarti, is determined to dodge the path her family have mapped out for her.
Can the foursome cycle through saddle sores and chaffed thighs to a brighter future, or will pushing themselves to the limit prove harder than they thought?

Would be a good tv drama

Thought at first it was going to be boring. Once you got to know the characters I loved it and listened every day to and from work.
I loved hearing about their families I especially wanted to slap Sues sister in law!!!!
Never going to volunteer for a charity bike ride!!

Disappointing

This is way too long. Too much needless description. The premise is good and it deals with mental health well. The obsession about people’s weight was tedious. The narrators accents weren’t great. I liked the story but it needed to be much shorter.

I wanted to like this story

I have a friend called Sue who rides a bike so I wanted to like this story, also the sample was intriguing. Unfortunately...This was so depressing I couldn't listen to it, so I can't comment on the bike riding part or eventual salvation as I didn't get far enough, it kept on harping on about a really disturbing event from the beginning. I don't want to spoil it by giving it away for people who might tolerate that! I'm about to return...
