About this listen
February 2012. Somewhere in the North Atlantic.
In an increasingly uncertain defence environment, a deadly new arms race has begun. In an attempt to secure her boundaries, Britain has deployed the very latest sub-sea military technology. Beneath and beyond the front line, these are the adventures of the HMS Goliath. A 55,000 tonne M-Class nuclear stealth submarine, prowling 5,000 metres below the surface, manned by idiots.
Wherever they are, they don't know where they are. But they're probably not far from trouble. Deep trouble.
A hilarious comedy that Time Out called "a cracker" and the Sunday Telegraph described as "written with nutty aplomb", Deep Trouble is written by and stars Ben Willbond and Jim Field Smith.
Produced and directed by David Tyler
A Pozzitive production for the BBC

Worth a try if you want a steady comedy book
it took a few listens but the scenario and characters became funnier on repeated listens. reminded me of My First Planet in that it has funny moments although the jokes can be seen coming.

It was OK I suppose...
It was ok to pass The time whilst I was working but, not tremendously funny, not a brilliant plot and some of the acting was a bit poor. Sorry x

Super series with lots of laughs.
As an ex submariner I loved most of this series. May seem far fetched at times but everything is just as it happens and I found myself laughing ahead of the script. Thank god I left before women arrived onboard !!

Deep humour
Very funny, great characters, superb writing. Reminded me of the Navy Lark. Recommend to all with a sense of humour.

British comedy at is best
Reminiscent of the best Carry On films. Witty, saucing and so much fun. Definitely worth a listen.

Excellent
Excellent acting, intelligent and witty script. I just wonder if Charles Dance actually did a cameo.

Having trouble sleeping?
Not with this audio book you won’t!
Who thought it deserved a second series beats me. It should have sank without trace after the first.

Poor acting
Hard to listen to at times, the Captain wade character ruins it for me, by constantly performing in the "me thinks the lady doth protest too much" manor. Pity, as the other performances are decent.

How did this ever make it to a second series?
So not funny. What could have been a good idea was very poorly executed. Avoid.
