About this listen
Parenting is for life – 7 days a week, 24 hours a day – and while it is one of the most rewarding experiences life can offer, it can also be frustrating when faced with challenging behavior. But what if just 15 minutes of mindful playtime each day in you and your child’s routine could change all that?
Play is the language of children. It is how they communicate. By rediscovering the joy of play as an adult, you can access a whole new way to understand and respond to your child’s needs.
Created with busy parents in mind, psychotherapist and parenting expert Joanna Fortune has devised a simple but effective method to build quality playful time together at home, structured around 15-minute games that can be easily incorporated into your existing daily routine.
From newborns to the age of seven, her techniques are underpinned by research, neuroscience and therapeutic theories and are designed to address common behavioral issues you will meet as your child grows, including:
- Anxiety
- Lashing out
- Whining
- Boredom
- Sibling rivalry
- Demands for independence
15-Minute Parenting 0-7 Years contains everything your child needs to grow into a happy, confident, and resilient adult.

Realistic and informative.
Like most books of this kind I wish I’d come to it earlier in my parenting career but “good enough is good enough”. I am encouraged that all is not lost if my second born has been watching telly since day dot, she won’t be permanently damaged by it. On the contrary, I feel a sense that I can make up for it in achievable chunks if truest focussed attention to them both.
As most books about bringing up children I’ve come across so far this reads as if you only have one child. In truth I think I had it much better sorted when there was only one child and have turned to these books since I started worrying that I was unravelling as a working parent of more than one. However these tips and play ideas are universal. Good luck everyone.

I found these methods to be good enough to make a difference and simple enough for even the busiest people to do.

Full of practical tips
An expert's advice, but easily digestible with loads of practical tips. Speed of the reading seemed a bit jarred, but I think that was my Audible setting? Got a lot from it regardless.

Good reminder on how to up our game as parents
Took some good tips and I've already started playing more with the kids and limiting screen time. I feel it's stuff you know already but need to kick to study doing it consistently.
