About this listen

Brought to you by Penguin.

From Jim Collins, the most influential business thinker of our era, comes an ambitious upgrade of his classic Beyond Entrepreneurship that includes all-new findings and world-changing insights.

What's the roadmap to create a company that not only survives its infancy but thrives, changing the world for decades to come?

Nine years before the publication of his epochal best seller Good to Great, Jim Collins and his mentor, Bill Lazier, answered this question in their best-selling book, Beyond Entrepreneurship.

Beyond Entrepreneurship left a definitive mark on the business community, influencing the young pioneers who were, at that time, creating the technology revolution that was birthing in Silicon Valley. Decades later, successive generations of entrepreneurs still turn to the strategies outlined in Beyond Entrepreneurship to answer the most pressing business questions.

Beyond Entrepreneurship 2.0 is a new and improved version of the book that Jim Collins and Bill Lazier wrote years ago. In this upgraded edition, Jim Collins honours his mentor, Bill Lazier, who passed away in 2005, and re-examines the original text of Beyond Entrepreneurship with his 2020 perspective.

The book includes the original text of Beyond Entrepreneurship, as well as four new chapters and 15 new essays. Beyond Entrepreneurship 2.0 pulls together the key concepts across Collins' 30 years of research into one integrated framework called the Map. The result is a singular experience, which presents a unified vision of company creation that will fascinate not only Jim's millions of dedicated readers and listeners worldwide, but also introduce a new generation to his remarkable work.

Wonderful listening and great insights gained from Jim and Bill

A lot of people I know have recommended to read Jim Collins’s books. I have recently picked up two physical books; Good to Great and Great by choice but I have not had a chance to read neither of them. After listening to his interview in the Dare to Lead podcast by Brené Brown, I picked this audiobook version of Beyond Entrepreneurship 2.0 and oh boy I am glad I did. I have thoroughly enjoyed it. Well written and well structured. A lot of lessons were demonstrated with real-world examples based on his research and experience.

I am passionate about Entrepreneurship and Innovation and find some essential lessons from this book. I have recently been put in to a Leadership training programme and this book has helped me to consolidate the key ideas and concepts. Highly recommended to leaders and entrepreneurs out there!!!

Concrete, concrete advice 👌

I've read almost everything Jim Collins has written (with a lot of help from countless people) and still it baffles me how he can distill the core of everything. As an entrepreneur this and his other books have helped me to get to the right track. Which is probably the idea :) Thank you Jim Collins.

I would give it 6 stars if I could

I’ve been a manager and read quite a few books on leadership and management, also good ones. This is THE best book on management I’ve read and probably the only book that could have caused me to avoid 98% of the things I had to learn the hard way. It’s well written, it’s to the point and it’s based on experience and research. I know the title says ‘entrepreneurship’ but it’s still the best book on management I’ve read.

Extremely Captivating

Had me on the hook, wanting to visit each section and reflect at the same time.

It does need time to put some of the principles into practice.

Listened to this several times

One of my ‘go to’ books for business and leadership. Superbly written with x reference to research. Very relatable for a small growing business. Our BHAG is on the wall! Excellent narration.
