About this listen

Brought to you by Penguin.

The 28th novel in the best-selling Alex Cross series.

A scandalous double homicide opens the psychological case files on Alex Cross....

When a glamorous socialite and a high school principal are found murdered, the shocking double homicide dominates tabloid headlines.

Detective Alex Cross knew both victims well, especially Kay who had been his patient once. And maybe more.

Alex's former Metro Homicide Partner tracks the slain principal's final movements to Alabama where Alex investigates Kay's past. They discover that although she had many enemies, all of them needed her alive.

The more the investigators push, the more resistance they find, and Alex is left facing a desperate choice between breaking trust and losing his way.

Deadly Cross by James Patterson

Takes me back to some storylines in the first Alex Cross novels. A thrilling story, a page turner! More of this please.

Narrator

I liked the beginning of the story however unfortunately the voice was too deep and found it hard to understand or even understand the story. I had to miss this book and move on to the next one.

Poorest Alex Cross yet

It may be time to hang up this character, quite a weak story, suspect totally ghost written

New voice. Poor

I don't understand why you would change the voice of the narrator when the narrator is the main character. It's just weird. It didn't help that this narrator didn't pronounce the names of the characters correctly. It was also annoying that there were parts which had obviously been re-recorded and so the voice was different. Not great to listen to.

BOOK REVIEW - DEADLY CR9SS

Drove me crazy with the "HE SAID, SHE SAID, CROSS SAID, SAMPSON SAID". Became very irritating after a while.

Not one I can recommend

Having read all of the Alex Cross series of books I feel that my enjoyment of them has begun to wane as the stories do seem to be a bit dull in the most recent offerings. Always difficult when you have a long term character to keep things fresh and interesting ( possible exception being Poirot where I feel the quality never dropped) but I think it’s time for me and Mr Cross to part company

Alex Cross not quite back to his best

It’s a good book but the repeated twisting conspiracies seem a stretch even for this series of books
