rediscovering Leonard Cohen

I've always found myself coming back to Cohen's music after years in between; there's something there that pulls me back time and time again for more deep immersion.
I've never known Cohen's poetry so this was an absolute treat, especially due to the man himself reciting his work. glad I made the purchase and how unfortunate that the man himself isn't with us no more.

Late night lullabies from a hearthen voice

This collection of musings, rhetorics, meanderings and prose give the reader an elaborate nuance into the experience that was Leonard Cohen - a man of moods that soothe and provoke and alter the consciousness of human happenings on an internal and external route to the heart.

Excellent Book

Leonard Cohen delivers an brilliant performance in the reading of this book of deep, meaningful and sublime poems. His voice perfectly compliments the sad tones of some of the poems while his humour shines through in others to keep the reader engaged and aware. I would definitely recommend listening to it more than once to really get an idea for the poems and start to understand their deeper meanings. He is a master!

Leonard Cohen's wonderful voice and the beauty of his poetry

I loved the Master reading his own poetry. No way could I dislike anything this wonderful man ever wrote. A wordsmith of the highest order! I am left, as always, longing for more Leonard Cohen.

Three Hours of Peak Cohen

Leonard Cohen was a kind of archetype for the type of hippy poetry people think is dreadful. That's because people IMITATING Cohen usually end up in dreadful territory. The man himself? Transcendent.

the highest of priests...

of rhyming couplets throughout the second half of the twentieth century and indeed the first quarter of the twenty first also turns prophet as he concludes this highly readable and very human work.
no surprise that I am talking about leonard cohen; and he turns his wry humour into a mourning of regret for the termination of a life spent with fine wine, beautiful literature and his golden voice.
I shall read this work over and over and then some more.
I suggest anyone with any pretence of an appreciation of modern culture does the same.
Bravo.
despite Leonards instruction to the contrary I read this from cover to cover; I Don t think I will be the only one.
