Somewhat better than Book 1

This is a fab follow up to Orphans of the Tide.
There is a better formed ‘world’, a better sense of mythology, better delivered characters too.
I enjoyed the plot… but just missed the ending… because, well, it doesn’t.
I will definitely read the next book, but this one just seemed to be a vehicle to get me there and that was the disappointment at the end.
I enjoyed it - I liked the idea of the vessel who wasn’t, the influence of The Enemy on Ellie throughout and how Seth found his existence more and more difficult. The history explained through Leila’s diary was a great addition to the story, but sadly I was just left wanting closure at the end, and I don’t feel like I got it.

Great story- poor narrator

This narrator of book one was far far better, it has ruined this great story a bit switching to a narrator that is far less charming and doesn’t seem to be paging attention to what she’s saying, the intonation is often wrong. Great stories though, our kids age 7 and 9 love them.

Brilliant book 2

I loved the first book and find it a struggle having to wait a while year for book 2. When I started reading it I decided to add the audiobook so I could also listen whilst not able to read. I don't always get along with audiobooks because of the narration. I have to say though that Laura Rollins is absolutely perfect here; I found myself listening more than reading because she tells the story so well.

Overall a great story, told brilliantly.

I LOVE IT- this series I is very underrated

There’s nothing to complain about it’s a great story where you can understand the tone of the characters and how they act about certain things. For example Elle try’s to be friendly to Seth’s new friends but they don’t like her however when Elle seems to get a new friend (Kate-before she’s revealed to be the queen) he acts really jealous and horrible. It’s really interesting. I also love how the narrator reads the story she’s a nice pick.
