Marvellous

Deeper and darker. Such a shame that you require at least 15 words to leave a review.

A bit unrealistic

I enjoyed the storyline of this book as much as the other ones but some aspects of the story don’t ring true. There’s an awful lot of driving after drinking heavily with no mention of the drink driving laws in the UK. I am also wondering why social services didn’t remove those poor children who have lost their mother and whose father disappears for weeks on end

Another great Samson novel

The story is picking up pace with some great reveals. Characterisation and settings are beautifully described. A joy to listen to.

Great book

Read brilliantly, great story. it says you can read the series in any order, but I would strongly recommend reading them in order

Lacklustre

Longwinded with little purpose. A chore to listen to - not worth a read. Lacks focus with too much peripheral verbiage. The core story was flimsy and not susceptible to close interrogation. A bedtime audiobook just one step above the crowd.

Another excellent piece of work

While I'm sure this would work as a stand-alone novel, I certainly recommend reading the preceeding stories. I have really enjoyed all of them; characters & plot cleverly drawn & narrated superbly.

Ludicrous

The plot is ludicrous (James Bond film are more believable). The style is much the same as ever, if somewhat more long winded.
Well, this time l got one and a half books further than last time, might try again in another 20 years, then again, life's too short
