Summary
Brought to you by Penguin.
From the author of One of Us Is Lying comes a brand-new pulse-pounding thriller. When three old friends relive an epic ditch day, it goes horribly - and deadly - wrong.
Ivy, Mateo and Cal used to be close - best friends back in middle school. So when Cal pulls into campus late for class and runs into Ivy and Mateo, they decide to ditch school. Just like old times.
But they're not the only ones ditching school that day. When Ivy, Cal and Mateo spot Brian 'Boney' Mahoney acting suspiciously downtown, they follow him into an empty building and walk straight into the middle of a murder scene.
With their day of freedom about to turn deadly, it's only a matter of time before everyone's secrets are revealed.

Great easy listen
Likable characters with good narration. The ending however dragged on a little long but overall still very likable story.

Good but not the best in series
I really like all of Karen McManus’s books but I found this one a little less engaging than some others. I found that the characters were not as likeable as the other books. The plot was good but a bit less realistic than most of her books.
Would still recommend though

Loved it loved it LOVED IT
This might be my fav McManus yet. I enjoyed this all the way. First, I loved how majority of the story took place within the span of a day. It made it more tense because it was like a countdown of sorts. I loved the three characters and narrations, it brought the story alive and allowed for more twists and surprises. Everything gets explained, and the characters feel real so the parts when I got frustrated at them was realistic rather than annoying. The story was engaging and I was more impressed by the plot twists along the way rather than the whole 'who done it' (which was still well done). The ending was the icing on the cake and unfortunately realistic in today's world. I strongly recommend

Nice Read
Another nice book from Karen M Mcmanus. It is my least favourite book in the series so far though. I think the plot could've been much better of spread out over the course of several days rather than taking place in just one day. I also wished the story delved a little bit more into the difficulties in Ivy's family dynamic with her brother and parents. Instead, it felt very glossed over which was dissapointing. I also found Ivy and Cal to be annoying some of the time which made this book a little difficult to read than the other Karen M McManus books I've read. I think in part, the fact that The Cousins was a 5 star read for me perhaps set the expectations for this book a little higher than normal. I suppose I've come to expect a lot from this series.
Overall, this is a nice listen. I did find the whole plot of the drug network and pointing out the double standards with how women are treated in the eyes of the law, especially where child grooming is concerned, to be something important and interesting to discuss.
I do hope the next book is better though.

You'll be the death of me
Another brilliant book by Karen. McManus. The plot has been really thought to give an engaging read. I'd highly recommend this book and the authors previous books to others.
