Summary
みすぼらしい旅人がとある宿屋で、どこにも出かけず酒を飲んではゴロゴロとしているのに怪しんだ宿屋の夫婦が、宿賃を催促に行くと一文無しだと言う。しかし竹細工を売って宿賃にするからと言われ出来上がった竹の水仙。これを宿屋の前に飾っておくと細川越中守がすぐにあの水仙を買ってまいれと家来に命令をする．．。兼好は左甚五郎を軽妙で世渡り上手なキャラクターに描き上げ、宿屋夫婦とのやり取りに明るい笑いが生まれている。
