Susan Froderberg was born in Washington State. She moved East to study medical ethics and philosophy at Columbia University, where she received her doctorate. Her short stories have appeared in various literary journals: Epoch, Conjunctions, Antioch Review, Alaska Quarterly, (nominated for Pushcart Award) Massachusetts Review, The New York Tyrant, among others; her essays published in LitHub, The Wall Street Journal, and Work In Progress. Old Border Road is her first book (Little, Brown - 2010). Mysterium, a second novel, was published in August, 2018 (Farrar, Straus and Giroux). She lives in New York City.
