I came to Texas from NYC to seek my fortune. OK, I didn't find a fortune but I did find a new career as a writer, a husband, and a weird new accent. I wrote about the transition from New Yorker to Texan (well, sort of) in my first book, The Yankee Chick's Survival Guide to Texas. I've written hundreds of articles and essays on all kinds of topics for all manner of newspapers, magazines, and websites. I stumbled into a career as a professional introvert when I wrote an essay called Confessions of an Introverted Traveler for the website World Hum. Now I write about introversion for Psychology Today, in my blog The Introvert's Corner; and I've written two books on the subject--The Introvert's Way and Introverts in Love. I'm passionate about travel and about travel in the United States of America. Check out my book 100 Places in the USA Every Woman Should Go for a little women's history, a little adventure, and a lot of fun. I'm also co-author of The Making of Dr. Phil: The Straight-Talking True Story of Everyone's Favorite Therapist, and you can find my work in such anthologies as Cat People: Female Writers on their Feline Friends, and P.S. What I Didn't Say.
