Sallie Muirden was born in Melbourne, Australia, where she still lives. She has published four novels, a collection of poetry and some short fiction. Her latest novel 'Wedding Puzzle' (2019) is a meditation on childhood and growing up, focusing on a young woman's fear of making a decision that will change the shape of her life. She has also written three historical novels: 'A Woman of Seville' (2009) 'We Too Shall Be Mothers' (2001) and 'Revelations of a Spanish Infanta' (1996). She writes about art and culture and religion. If you like the old-world cities of Avignon, Madrid, Seville and Vienna, you will like these historical novels. The narratives are inspired by real history, but move towards the magical and romantic. The Spanish baroque artist Diego Velazquez appears as a character in two of these novels. When younger Sallie Muirden wrote poetry. Her collection of poetry, 'The Fable of Arachne' was published in 2009.
