Hi, I'm a pilot by profession. My eclectic flying career has spanned both military and civil aviation, in regional, domestic, and international operations. In the military, I was the academic dux of my pilot course and flew both jet-trainers and as the captain of military transport aircraft. The general aviation phase of my career included low-level aerial power-line survey, managing and flying for a flying school and charter business, and fly-in fly-out staff changeovers for mining companies. I have flown turbo-props for a night freighter company and for a regional airline with the longest route structure of any turbo-props-based airline in the world. I have also flown both short and long haul types for the most iconic of Australian carriers. In over 30 years as a pilot, to date, I've logged over 13,000 hours in 30 different types including HS748, Metro 23, Fokker Friendship, Shorts 360, DHC8, Boeing 747 (pilot and flight engineer licenses), Boeing 737 and Airbus A330. I also have considerable experience teaching aircraft systems and performance as well as aerodynamics. I love to teach, hold a Certificate in Vocational Instruction, and have also worked as a management and leadership trainer in a military officer training establishment, driving coach, and ski instructor. While competing as an amateur race car driver, I used the techniques in Ross Bentley’s "Speed Secrets" titles to achieve three state titles and a Rookie of the Year award. It was my exposure to Ross’s performance coaching philosophy that lead to our collaboration on "Performance Pilot".
