Michael Lawrence is the author of many stories and over forty books for children and young adults. Many of his books have been published internationally and translated into more than twenty languages. One of them - Young Dracula - was adapted for television, eventually becoming five TV series. Several of Michael's books have won awards or been shortlisted for awards in England and America.
In 2020 Michael completed a substantial adult novel, many years in the writing, called Moorhens, which he has made exclusively available on Kindle. The novel is concerned with alternative family histories, chance, accident, grief and parallel worlds. The setting is the riverside house he was born in and where he spent the first few years of his life. Thus, while the story is highly imaginative and quite unpredictable, the setting 'grounds' it utterly - in a good way.
Michael has also published a collection of poems and song lyrics written over a 45 year period, from 1967 to 2012. This collection, also available on Kindle, is called Nudes & Victims.
