Michael G. Pipich, M.S., LMFT, is a psychotherapist, lecturer, and media personality who has more than 30 years of experience in mental health. He has taught graduate-level courses in diagnosis and psychotherapy, psychopharmacology, and substance abuse and addictions. Michael provides national professional trainings in bipolar diagnosis and treatment and conducts community-based bipolar educational groups for patients and families. Michael has an extensive interest and knowledge in treating bipolar disorder from both individual and family therapy modalities. His unique perspectives successfully guide people from crisis through stabilization and on to the journey of coping with a mental illness in the long term. In addition to clinical evaluations and psychotherapy, Michael was selected as a collaborating investigator by the American Psychiatric Association, performing clinical field trials for the 5th edition of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-5®), and is a Clinical Fellow of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapists. He has also been featured in media on a variety of topics, and is the founder of BipolarNetwork.com and the Bipolar Network Facebook page. Michael holds a Master’s of Science in Clinical/Community Psychology from California State University, Fullerton, and a Bachelor’s of Science in Psychology from Loyola Marymount University, Los Angeles.
