Kim Harms has a degree in English: Literary Studies from Iowa State University and has more than two decades of writing experience. She is the author of Life Reconstructed: Navigating the World of Mastectomies and Breast Reconstruction (Familius 2021.) In addition to her book, her work can be found in a wide variety of publications including Joyful Life, Christianity Today, Guideposts, Wildfire, Chicken Soup for the Soul and more. Kim underwent a bilateral mastectomy and reconstruction surgeries in 2016 after being diagnosed with breast cancer at age 40. In 2019, she learned her "foobs" were recalled because, ironically, they were found to cause cancer. So she went back under the knife to have them replaced. She now provides resources to women going through similar experiences at her website, kimharms.net. She Enjoys: Reading, Refinishing Furniture, Remodeling Projects, Backpacking, Traveling, Doing just about anything with her family, Daydreaming about buying a sailboat and island hopping in the Caribbean with her hubby She Does Not Enjoy: Cooking, Shopping, Picking up Dog Poop Kim lives in Huxley Iowa with her husband, Corey, two of their three sons and one crazy dog.
