Kevin Flude's main interest is telling stories about the past. He has done this either as an author, curator or as guide and lecturer. London is the subject he loves most. He lectures for Road Scholar, and gives walks for London Walks. He has also lectured at the University of Westminster on a course teaching 'public history'; on Museums Studies for UCL and the University of Worcester. For 20 years, he was an Associate Lecturer on the MA for Narrative Environments course. He began working on the Past in 1976. First at the Research Laboratory for Archaeology and the History of Art, then as an archaeologist, including at the Museum of London (1977-84). He was an Assistant Keeper at the Victoria and Albert Museum between 1984-1987. Since 1987, Kevin has worked freelance as a consultant in many museums, lecturing on the museums, history and archaeology of London and directed the transformation of the Old Operating Theatre Museum from 1988 to 2014.
