Katherine Wiltenburg Todrys is a human rights lawyer who specializes in health and human rights research and advocacy. Her first book, Black Snake: Standing Rock, the Dakota Access Pipeline, and Environmental Justice--which considers the health impacts of fracking in the Bakken and the Indigenous movement against the Dakota Access Pipeline--was published in June 2021. She has previously worked as a researcher for Human Rights Watch, reporting on health conditions in African prisons; access to HIV treatment for migrants; and police abuses against sex workers.
