Juan Jacinto Muñoz-Rengel (Spain, 1974) is the author of the essay 'A History of Lying' (2022), the novels The Capacity for Love of Mr Königsberg (La capacidad de amar del señor Königsberg, 2021), The Great Imaginer (El gran imaginador, 2016), The Other’s Dream (El sueño del otro, 2013) and The Hypochondriac Hitman (El asesino hipocondríaco, 2012), and the short story collections El libro de los pequeños milagros (2013), De mecánica y alquimia (2009), finalist in the Setenil Prize for best short story book, and 88 Mill Lane (2006). He was named one of the most promising Spanish writers of his generation and his work has appeared in main anthologies, including Cuento español actual (Editorial Cátedra, 2014), Pequeñas resistencias. Antología del nuevo cuento español (Páginas de Espuma, 2010) and Siglo XXI. Los nuevos nombres del cuento español (Menoscuarto, 2010). He has received more than fifty national and international literary awards for his short stories and his works have been published in a dozen countries including USA, France, Italy, Finland, Greece, Canada, Turkey, Russia, Romania, Argentina, Uruguay, Chile or Arab countries.
