Daniel Barros was born on October 4, 1968, in the city of Maceió, state of Alagoas, the son of an Alagoas Military Police officer, Ivan Marinho de Barros, and teacher Maria Tereza Costa de Barros. He is an agricultural engineer, graduated from the Federal University of Alagoas in 1992, and postgraduate in public security, Brasília, where he has lived since 1998. He began his love for writing through reading. As a young man he wrote in school periodicals and wrote in the college newspaper. He was a collaborator, as a photographer, for O Jornal and Gazeta de Alagoas, he is the author of the novels O smile da cachorra, Thesaurus, Enterro Sem Defunto, LER publisher 2013, Brasília, Mar de Pedra, romance, publisher Thesaurus, Brasília, 2015; Canto Escuro, novel, publisher Penalux, Guaratinguetá, 2019, (finalist at the International Latino Book Awards 2020); Erotic Tales Collection, While the Night Lasts – supernatural tales; Behind the scenes of crime, police stories (Organizer), Editora APED, Rio de Janeiro: Every form of love and Confessions (poems) DARDA publisher; Anthology Shadows & Desires, publisher Ixtlan, São Paulo and member of the DF writers union. He was a police officer for three decades and belonged to the Special Operations Division where he specialized in negotiating police crises. He also worked at the narcotics department and the Homicide Division. Today he is a professor at the Escola Superior da Policia Civil DF.
