Like many others, I guess I’ve suffered a bit from cramming too much: first a Masters degree in Economics from JNU, Delhi and then an MBA from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. Taking Mark Twain’s advice, however, I have tried not to let my schooling interfere with my education. That has come in the main from reading books and meeting people. Conan Doyle, Rider Haggard and Kalki’s novels in Tamil fired my imagination at an early age with their classics of detection and adventure and I’ve been hooked to a good yarn ever since. I also love history and travel writing and the vignettes in this website that I wrote for the Hindu’s Sunday Magazine reflect this. In recent years, trekking has become a fairly regular part of my annual calendar and it’s my hope to cover all the major trekking routes in the Indian and Nepal Himalaya in the next decade. When not indulging in these past times, I run an R&D company that does product innovation in materials science with a focus on engineered composites.
