About this listen
City boy Toby Merrow needs a change of scenery, and two weeks at a dude ranch seems the perfect solution, even though it’s a far cry from the scenes of San Francisco. Not much chance of finding anything like that out in the wilds of Montana. But who knows? If he’s really lucky, one of the other guests will show up on Scruff—or even better, Recon. That’s if Toby has energy for anything else after spending his days riding out and herding cattle….
Grizzled ranch owner Robert Thorston’s foreman died five years ago, but Robert lost far more than a trusted right-hand man. That door is firmly closed, however, and the trappings that lie behind it are gathering dust. He’s thrown himself into his business, never giving that part of his life a second thought—until a new guest catches his eye.
It’s obvious from the start Robert and Toby have a connection, one they are keen to make the most of in Robert’s bed. No strings, no complications, and itches get scratched—well, most of them.
Then Toby discovers the coiled ropes under Robert’s bed, and the leather cuffs in the nightstand drawer….

Loved this!
Always a pleasure diving into a KC Wells book and/or series! You know going in you're gonna get: well-written, fleshed-out, likable/relatable characters, humor, found family, a love story worth fighting for & a HEA with a lot of heart, love, warm & fuzzies! All the feels. Salvation Dude Ranch is an interesting, intriguing, inspiring place to be, and I can't wait to delve into the stories of the others introduced. Robert & Toby were amazing together, I'm so glad they got their act together eventually & figured it out together. Lots of hurt//comfort, kinky cowboy shenanigans & nosy well-meaning 'family' butting in - it's perfectly imperfect!
John Solo's performance was simply fabulous. So much emotion, raw feelings, real reactions - he gave voices to these characters, did his job with the amazing performance of the story, and then did what he does best, got out of the way & let the author's characters tell their story through him - it was wonderful!

Ranch romance
Very interesting uses for certain ranch essentials and other things here, lol. I felt for Robert and the heartbreak that had caused him to lock his emotions away and it was great seeing how the intended fling with Toby began to open him up again. These two may have started out as diversions for each other during Toby's stay at the ranch, but after they separate and Toby goes back home, it's clear the experience has changed both of them. Toby's business partner Sean has the perfect solution for helping these two get together and so begins the start of what promises to be a really interesting series. I loved this when I read it, and John Solo's performance captured perfectly what I loved about these two He took two men with high walls and showed us vocally those walls coming down.

I loved this audiobook and the cover is perfect.
I loved his book when I read it with my eyes about a month ago and I love it even more after listening to John Solo’s fantastic performance of the audiobook. There really isn’t anything else that I could say that I didn’t already say in my original review so I’ve copied that below.
Two men from vastly different worlds collide when kinky city boy Toby decides to vacation on a dude ranch. There he meets Robert, the ranch owner and hot older guy. Robert is still grieving the loss of his foreman 5 years ago. Toby can tell something is bothering Robert but it takes a bit into the story before we find out everything.
These two throw sparks off of each other to the point that all of the ranch hands notice. They are happy when Toby and Robert get together because Robert has been grieving too long. Toby finds himself really enjoying his time on the ranch. The work is hard but he likes how it makes him feel and then things get even better after he and Robert get together.
Unfortunately, things don’t always work out the way you want and Robert and Toby must decide what is most important to them.
The book proceeds at a nice slow and steady pace which suited the story perfectly. Robert is leery of getting involved with Toby but when he discovers that Toby can give him what he wants and needs he can’t say no. The connection between Robert and Toby was palpable and I loved how they were together. The book includes some great secondary characters – mostly ranch hands, but also a couple of guests – and I can’t wait to read their stories.
A complimentary copy of this audiobook was provided to me at my request; my review was voluntary and not influenced by the author and/or narrator.

Who'd love to go to a Dude Ranch? ME
I loved this story. It was heartfelt, past loss, new love and a stunning setting. The story developed slowly but in a good way. It allowed us to get to know the characters and their personalities. The characters are well written, with depth to each person. The story developed well along with the relationships. Plus, we get a HEA in the end.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book, and the excellent narration from John Solo helped. Although, like usual, I sped up the audio and listened at 1.15 speed on audible. I recommend this audio/book to everyone.

A Wonderfully Steamy & Heartfelt Story & Listen🎧
K.C. Wells turns up the heat for this beautifully written and captivating romance novel, a story that grabbed not only my attention but pulled on my heartstrings the entire book. Wells’ characters are realistic, easy to relate to and connect with, they are easy to care about and even fall for. Toby Merrow does not do love or feelings, and as a dominant he wants his submissive to be just that, his submissive, and nothing further in the relationship. It is his number one rule, and he is always upfront with his subs about that. When his latest submissive, Tyler, expresses feelings and wants more, Toby has to let him go. Toby is also part owner of a kink club, and news that he is free travels quickly and prospective subs approach him to scene with, but he is not up for it or for seeing his ex back in action. Needing to get away, he books a vacation at a dude ranch in Montana, a working vacation. Robert Thorston is the owner of Salvation Dude Ranch, his heart has not been into it lately, hasn’t been since the lost his foreman who was more than just his right-hand man on the ranch. His ranch hands know he has not been himself when a guest arrives and they see the sparks that fly between the two they gently nudge the two together. Despite coming from different worlds, Toby, from the big city and Robert, a genuine cowboy, they were great together and for each other. And when they realize they have more in common it is game on, especially once Toby learns Robert’s preference, to be a bottom. It was like they made these two for each other, while Toby is only there for the two weeks they make the best of their time together. Robert knows Toby does not do love, but is there a possibility of having a long distance D/s relationship and making it work? Does he even want that? I loved how everything played out in this book, it is a wonderfully plotted story with a perfect balance of drama, heartfelt emotions, steamy kink and romance. K.C Wells, thank you for another amazing story and emotional rollercoaster ride. I am looking forward to hear more Salvation Ranch greatness in 2023.
🎧📚🎧 And for the amazing narration, John Solo did a wonderful job bringing these characters and their story to life. He had a complete understanding of who these characters were, gave each their own voice, and was believable in the roles he played. You could hear how much heart he put into his work as he captured all the characters’ emotions and projected them into his performance and had you feeling every single one. John Solo is an entertaining storyteller and a versatile voice artist, his narration enhances this already fabulous story to another level. Thank you for another exceptional listen.

Marvelous! & a Stunning Performance by J Solo
K.C. Wells writes such gorgeous D/s relationships, and happy news for BDSM fans, Wells has a whole new series! Plus it’s a Western!
The first novel, Wrangled, pairs a younger Dom with a slightly older sub (Toby is mid-thirties and Robert’s in his forties). And I LOVED the dynamic between the two men. Robert’s the big boss on the ranch, and has a strong and forceful personality when dealing with those around him. But when these two get into the bedroom, all that changes.
Longing to let go of all the stresses of life, aching to give it all up to someone, Robert hasn’t felt the release of submitting to someone in over five years. After the tragic loss of his partner, Robert has shut that part of himself away.
Toby knows there’s something not quite right in his life. He’s got a great job, wonderful friends, and plenty of play partners… but until he establishes a true connection with Robert, he never knew exactly what was missing.
Robert is such a beautifully damaged character. And the connection he makes with Toby is so emotional. We just have to hope and hope that Toby realizes it too!
Wrangled is also available as an audiobook, stunningly narrated by John Solo. I’ve been singing praises to Mr. Solo’s skills for years, but I’ve got to say, his performance in this one is incredible. The scene where Robert Tells Toby that he’s submissive, and has been without his dominant for all these years… Well it brought me to tears when I read it, but John Solo’s delivery of this emotional scene is outstanding.
In addition to the marvelous characters in Wrangled, K.C. Wells includes stunning descriptions of the Montana wilderness as well as the Salvation Ranch. I’m looking forward to future episodes of this series, as each of these characters gets his own story. Hopefully the next book will be out soon!
